Moonlight.

Awhile back I heard a friend talk about taking Moon Walks.

She'd take her PJ clad babies and go for a stroll before bed.

I thought it sounded so wonderful, but never tried it for myself.

Until last week.

When the sun sank below Camelback Mountain, I looked at Josie and said, "let's go for a walk."

"Now!?!"

"Yup, right now.  Get your shoes."

And out the door we went.

Have you ever walked at dusk?

It's magical.

You can feel the World slowing down.  Getting ready for sleep.

My mom and I chatted while Josie searched for rabbits hiding under cactus.

Voices are hushed and the air was cool.

Everything is better by moonlight.

Josie was hooked from our first Moon Walk.

We've gone out most nights for a pre-bedtime jaunt around the block and it has quickly become my favorite time of day.  Something I look forward to almost as much as that first cup of coffee in the morning.

Three cheers for new traditions.

My husband and I used to take moon walks every night before our son came. Thanks for reminding me with this post. Now that my son is older, maybe we can start them up again :)

Before Daylight savings time, we would take OK out right before bed and watch the stars and moon. She loves doing that. We haven't done it since the time change, so we need a moon walk when we get to the desert!

Oh, I had forgotten all about doing that when the kids were small! Somehow along the line, I have gotten out of the habit. Thanks for reminding me of it.

Yes! We love moon walks, we try to do them often specially before it gets too hot out here. It calms the kiddos down too right before bed.
