Can't Win Them All

Andrew and I love taking the kids on Family Dates.

Over the past few months we've done some super fun things that the kids went nuts over.

Since the kids and I were pretty much gone the entire month of July, we decided it was time to head out and make some memories.

Plan A was to go see an outdoor children's play at Serenbe.

Josie was freaking out in the backseat the whole way there.

We got to Serenbe right as the play was starting but couldn't find which lake it was at.  We finally found it 30 minutes into the 45 minute play.

Much to Josie's dismay, we decided to reschedule that date and make an impromptu Plan B.

The Braves Game was in the 4th inning.  We knew we could get there by the end of the 5th and since the kids (or us) would never make it through the whole game anyways, we decided to go for it.

It was on our Summer List so I was excited and Josie had never been to a big game before so she was happy.

However, we forgot that outside of our air conditioned car it was 95 degrees and humid as all get out.

Heat was radiating from every surface at the field.  It was seriously nasty out.

So we made some fast memories!

40 minutes tops from the time we walked in to the time we were back in the AC!

We did manage to see all the highlights of the field, including a huge Chickfila Cow Statue that Gabriel was scared silly of.

We made lots of stops at the misters that felt more like warm spit then cool rain.

Not our best Family Date, but when it ends with Frozen Yogurt and kisses, it couldn't have been that bad of a date!

Isn't it funny how things never go as planned. Sounds like all ended well though and those kisses at the end were worth it I'm sure.
