Desert Botanical Gardens

We had a Mother-Daughter-Granddaughter Date on Wednesday!

I've wanted to go to the Desert Botanical Gardens for years and after scoring some cheap tickets on Groupon, we finally got to go.

And since it was the Desert Botanical Gardens, we found it fitting to go smack dab in the middle of the 90 degree day.

Yikes!  It was HOT!

This is a cactus made out of glass!  They were so pretty in the sun.

Josie was our Map Girl.

She was on a mission to get past all the botanical stuff and into the Butterfly House as soon as possible!

I was so surprised at how many blooms were on the cactus!  Turns out the Desert is actually pretty colorful!

Like Josie's new John Lennon glasses?!?!

She found them all by herself at the store and managed to talk us into getting them for her.

When we finally got to the Butterfly House (which had the most amazing misters going!) we were all so excited!

It was seriously cool!

The day was awesome and super educational.

We tied in her school work when we got home and she now knows a ton about cacti.

Beautiful pictures! Love the glass cactus! I don't know if you are aware of this but there is a butterfly at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, GA. Also the Wild Animal Safari is pretty awesome too. Hubby and I had to move to Lagrange for work for a bit and we visited both places. It's about 2 hrs from Gwinnett so not sure how far from you!

Wow, that's really neat! Looks like that area has plenty of fun things to keep you busy!
