A Night In The Gardens

Friday night we went to the Atlanta Botanical Gardens for the Joan Baez concert. My cousin, Emma, is Joan's Tour Assistant.

It was an awesome date night.

Between the gardens, Joan's music, and the wine, I was more relaxed then I'd been in a long time.

Emma hooked us up with wristbands for the Aftershow!

As you can see by looking around us, we were a little out of our age group. I'm sure everyone was wondering how we got backstage access!

It was pretty steamy when we first got there, but luckily it cooled off when the sun started to go down.

Ok, I'm noticing all the slightly older people in these pictures and it's cracking me up!

We got to meet Joan after the show, but I'm a wimp and for the second year in a row, I didn't get a picture with her.

Maybe next year.

Ahhh, Emma.

My sweet Emma Irene.

I wish I could express how amazing she is. She's my baby cousin and we grew up together. In my mind she is still 8. But somehow she is actually 24 and that is just crazy to me.

She has the kindest spirit and is just fun. I can't help but smile when I am with her. And touring with Joan has opened up the World to her. I'm so proud of her.

And just to prove how truely cool we are:

Backstage groupies, with our matching outfits.

Oh Lord help us!

Thank You Again for taking us!!! I seriously had a great time and I can now call myself a fan of Joan Baez! I told David the same thing that it was the most relaxing night we've had in awhile. I enjoyed that concert more than any I've been to in awhile. I guess I'm getting old! Thanks to Emma again! She is so cool and I am sooo jealous of her!
