July Books

The Pact by Jodi Picoult
  • This one was SO SO good! Bonny has been recommending it to me forever, but our tiny library had to order it from a different library. It finally came in and I read it in about two days. It made Amy and I think twice about arrainging a marriage between Luke and Josie!

Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult

  • I read this one after Amy watched the Lifetime movie based on it. I thought it was good and it was interesting to learn about the Amish lifestyle. Not my favorite, but a good read.

Keeping Faith by Jodi Picoult

  • This is the last of Good Ole Jodi's books that our library has. It was about a woman whose marriage suddenly ends with an affair and then her 7 year old daughter starts saying that she is talking to God, healing people, and showing Stigmata. It was really good and had a few twists in it.

***I swear I am not obsessed with Jodi Pioult! I just figured since I had read over 2/3 of her books I might as well read the rest! I really enjoy her writing style and I'm going to be sad when I finish the rest of them.

Power Of A Praying Parent by Stormie Martain

  • This one I'm reading as a devotional so I won't finish it for awhile. I read The Power Of A Praying Wife and it was great. So far this one is inspiring me to really pray for Josie and her future.

The Makers Diet by Jordan Rubin

  • After my Healing Post, I realized that I wasn't as up to date with the info in the book as I wanted to be. I'll be honest, the book is a hard read. It's loaded with info, but it's medical. It makes me feel like I'm back in my college heath classes! So I'm jumping around and only reading it for a little bit at a time otherwise I start spacing out!

What Would Jesus Eat by Don Colbert, MD

  • Same thing as above. A lot of the same info only not as much of an eating plan as just information. I'm borrowing these from Darlene and it came with an amazing cookbook.

I'm glad you liked the Pact! I actually just watched the movie they made on lifetime about it, it was pretty good!! I just read another book called "Firefly Lane" by Kristin Hannah, that one is also very good. Tells a story about best friends growing up.
