Roam School - Inman Farm Days

Last Friday, Josie had a field trip with her Farm Fusion class.

We woke up bright and early, errr, well, we were supposed to wake up bright and early to catch the hayride but I forgot to set my alarm.  No worries, I've perfected the art of making us semi-presentable in 15 minutes.  We got there in plenty of time for her to ride with the rest of the school to the festival.

Inman Farm Days is pretty much just what it sounds like.  A festival of farm stuff.  The main events were all on Saturday and Sunday, but they opened up Friday for an education day.  There were a ton of tractors, some were super old, and demonstrations of how farmers used to do things back before machines took over.

Josie was a typical elementary kid and ditched us for her friends as soon as we got there.

This is Gabe's new BFF:

Thoughts on adding a donkey to the farm, Christy?

And can I just say how thankful I am that Andrew's Mom is retired?!?!  It was so awesome to have her there to help wrangle, I mean to enjoy the day, with Gabe.

After some hands on corn grinding, both my kids decided farming was more manual labor then there were into.

This here is a little seminar in Moonshine.

You never know when you might need that, I mean, it's a good lesson in economics or small business operations I'd think.

Funniest part of the trip was when Josie's little friend yelled out half way through the guy's talk, "Hey Mr. Moonshiner, do you have any popsicles?"  That pretty much ended this particular station!

we did find popsicles, but not from the Mr. Moonshiner

Gabe asked Darlene and I at least 7 million times if he could ride a tractor.

We finally found one he could sit on and boyfriend was in farm heaven.

It was a great day!
