Creation Unit

We eased back into school with a fun theme.

Amidst the whining about copy work, the frustration over blending, and watching Speekee 5 times a day, we learned all about the story of creation.

We focused on a different part of the creation story each day with scripture reading, a fun craft, and a snack to help us remember what we learned.

Here's a peek at what we did.

day & night = pudding & whipped cream

sky = blue jello & whipped cream clouds

land & sea = blue milk & cookie islands

sun & moon = yogurt with yellow sprinkles

birds & fish = goldfish crackers

animals & Adam = animal crackers

We did talk about how God rested on the 7th day.  We are learning all about rest with a weekend at the beach!

I also had her copy each part of the creation story in her copy work book.

we are using a composition notebook for copy work.  she just copies whatever I write.

We're having the same issue over here...Elaina keeps telling me she liked PreK better and can't she just keep doing that? oh boy....

Nicole,

That looks like so much fun. My youngest and I will also be completing a creation unit in the next few weeks. I have craft activities, but love the food ideas along with the study.
