2 Little Indians

I'm linking up to "Just A Girl"s I Can Make That Party!
Go check out all the AMAZING knockoffs that you can make yourself!

A few weeks ago I spotted a felt indian headband at Pottery Barn Kids that I had to have.

I can't find the link to it now, but it was $18 and since felt is only .19 cents, I decided I'd better try my hand at making my own.

This project was SO easy and the kids are loving them!

I just gathered up the felt scraps I had in the closet:

Then I cut out 4 rectangles, and 12 feathers (two for each feather on the hat):

And then Andrew left for a meeting with my camera. I took a bunch of step by step pictures on our extra camera and now can't get them uploaded. But y'all are smart cookies so I'm sure you can figure it out!

I sewed two of each color together to give the feathers more stability to make them stick up.
Then I sewed them on to one strip of brown felt and then attached the other rectangle to the back leaving the sides open.
The last step is to measure a strip of elastic to the kiddos head size and insert it into the openings on the end of the rectangles and stitch it up.

The whole thing took about 20 minutes and they are adorable!

We are wrapping this into our Letter Of The Week, "I".

OMGoodness...this is so adorable! What cute models too. ;) I love this idea. Thank you for sharing.

Also, you asked about the beadboard on our walls. It was about $300 for materials to do it. That was for 2 walls! Hope that helps. :)
