Creation Illustrated - TOS Review

We are smack in the middle of a few really awesome reviews for the TOS Homeschool Crew.  It's been so much fun getting packages in the mail.

A couple weeks ago, we opened up a big envelope and found 4 of the most beautiful magazines inside.  We snuggled up on the couch and went page by page through all of them.

Creation Illustrated is a Bible based nature journal.

The magazine reminded me a lot of National Geographics, but with each article pointing the reader back towards God and the awesome world he created.  Y'all, the pictures in these magazines are breathtaking.  God really is an incredible creator and artist.  Josie has gone back time and time again to look at the pictures and pick which ones are her favorites.

I have enjoyed the articles.  I have been using it as a part of my morning devotional.  Which is usually cut short by hungry children.  The articles are short enough that I can read the entire thing and hard hitting enough to stick with me all day.

The articles are too old for Josie to get much out of, but there are activities in the back that she has loved.  We put out a hummingbird feeder after looking through all the hummingbird pictures and spent some time talking about how cool God made them.  If you have children that are a little older, they could easily use this magazine as a part of their schooling.  It includes questions in the back to correspond to each article that would make it an excellent nature study.  I'm sure they would lead to some great discussions.

The publication comes out four times a year and focuses on seasonal articles.  It cost $19.95 for a one year subscription.
