Crafting - Welcome Sign

After the smashing success of our burlap wreath project, Kelsey and I decided to make this donut-coffee-crafting get together a weekly thing.

I'm pretty excited about it because it combines a slew of my favorite things.  And knowing that I will get to cross something off my list every week is pretty fabulous too.

I found this welcome sign on Pinterest and had to make it mine.

We used fence posts from our old pool fence that Andrew tore down one afternoon after I casually mentioned that I didn't like the way it looked.  I wish he manhandled the dishes with the same gusto, but that's besides the point.  The old fence posts were the perfect size for this sign.

This project took us three hours to finish.

I'm going to go ahead and blame that on the seven children and brand new puppy we were having to wrangle.  Without kids, this would be a very fast craft that will give you buckets of pride.

I won't insult you with any kind of tutorial.  You paint a board black, stencil on the letters and ghetto rig a bow to the top.  Seriously, that bow has about seven pounds of hot glue holding it together.  The trickiest part of this project was convincing Andrew to let me nail it onto the house.  In the end he approved and now we have the start of an adorable front porch.
