The Well Planned Day

I have an obsession with day planners.

There is nothing like a blank canvas ready to have a whole year of things written in it.  I always feel a little twinge of guilt when the year ends and I am faced with the decision of holding on to the old planner for memories sake or tossing it for space saving's sake.

Yup, I love planners.

But I also have pretty strong opinions about them.  

They have to have the right size boxes to write in and be easy to navigate.  They get major bonus points if they are pretty and, for all that is good and holy, they have to be paper.  Andrew tried to get me on the digital planner bandwagon and it did nothing for me.

All that to say, I've found the Holy Grail of Day Planners for homeschooling.

I've been eyeballing The Well Planned Day planners for over a year but just didn't think I needed one for preschool.

Well, guess what?

Josie is officially in real school with real curriculum and that means I need a real planner!

After looking through all the pages over and over for a few days, I got out my pen and put The Well Planned Day planner to the test.  And even though organizing 6 different curriculum's lessons was a bit more of a challenge then I was expecting, this planner rocked it out.

Each subject has plenty of space to write each day's assigned pages or activities and I love the check boxes next to each line.  A girl like me who loves planning, also loves checking things off the list!

This planner is really pretty.

The cover is laminated and it is spiral bound so that it can lay flat or fold completely in half.  The colors are gorgeous.

Another OCD bonus?  The colors change to reflect the season!  LOVE that!

As for the actual material, the Well Planned Day is loaded.

You can track up to four children with this planner.  Each month has an inspiring article that is actually relevant for a homeschooling mom.  There is a daily Bible reading plan, daily catechisms, meal plans, detachable lists, chore charts, curriculum trackers, grading sheets, and all the record trackers that you will need.

I am way in love with this planner.  

I was trying to think of what I didn't like about it and all I could come up with was that it might be nice to not have the subjects already listed on the side.  However, it's only the main subjects and there are still blank squares to fill in subjects that you add on.  And after using the planner for a month, I am using all of those subject squares so even that isn't a dislike anymore.

I am confident that this will be the company that I stick with!

Home Educating Family also has planners for older students to fill in themselves.  What an awesome way to teach responsibility.  They also have travel sized planners as well as a digital planner for those of you who don't need to feel pen to paper.
