I found this book at the library last week and knew it would be perfect for introducing math type things to Josie.
I was right.
Chocolate and crayons are two of our favorite C's around here!
I Googled M&M Graphs and came up with this baby that was just what I was looking for:
Very basic but covers what I needed.
Josie loved sorting.
She did not love waiting to eat them while we did the activities in the book.
We made it 1/2 way through the book and then gave up the addition stuff and just did our graph so she could eat them.
such an awesome idea!
ReplyDeleteCute! Natey would have been stealing them any time I turned my head!
ReplyDeleteKinda tough to do addition with m & m's......subtraction, not a problem! Haha
ReplyDeleteLove this idea! We actually have this book but I've been to afraid to go out and buy the M&Ms the bag would be gone by the end of the day! :)
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to pass along this blog. I'm not sure if you have seen it but the lady who writes the blog is a preschool teacher and she writes about what they do in class. She has a few science projects as well. I was thinking of doing this cheerio bird feeder with sophia.

I hope you are having a nice week!
Great idea! We have this book...somewhere. I haven't even thought about using it for school stuff! Duh!
ReplyDelete:-) We had the same problem with marshmallow hearts, she just wanted to eat them...yummy edible projects are just too tempting for preschoolers!
