We Have Concrete!

The kids sat still and quiet for 45 minutes watching the trucks.Pretty sure I need to find something else to pour with concrete.

I could get used to the quiet!

See Ya Later Paci!

I've been talking about throwing her paci away for months now.

I sing her songs about it. I tell stories about it. I point out other kids without paci's.

But I was trigger shy.
Scared out of my mind more like it.
I'm not sure if it was the fear of napless days or the fear of her not being a baby anymore, but I just wasn't ready to do it.

Little Miss woke up this morning and looked me in the eye and said, "Me throw me paci in the trash can. Me no need it. Me a Big Girl!"
I tried to explain to her that once it was in the trash can, it was gone forever.
She was cool with that.

And like a true Blogger, I took pictures of her doing it.

She was so proud. I almost cried.

No diapers, no paci.
Next she'll be telling me she's too big for kisses or for me to rock her to sleep.

A popcicle with breakfast was her prize for being such a big girl. She may think she's all grown, but she's got a few more years of being my baby! Photobucket

A Is For Apple!

This week's letter was A!

We did a couple crafts.

The first one was super easy.
I just cut out a couple apple shapes out of paper ad cut up a whole bunch of red squares. My original plan was for JP and Josie to cut their own squares, but I am having the hardest time finding child safe scissors.

We started by looking at the letter A and tracing it with their fingers. Then I squeezed glue all over their apples and let them go to town putting on the red squares. It's funny to see the differences between Josie and JP. JP was much more concerned with where he would put each peice and decided he did not want his whole apple red. Josie on the other hand had her entire apple covered in about five minutes and was begging for more!

This was a fun craft and easy for them to do. The whole time they were doing their art I kept showing them the letter sheet and asking what the letter was.

Today we are painting with apples and eating baked apples for snack!

Treehouse Gone Nester

I was sitting up in Josie's treehouse with her and I felt that it was missing something.
I know, I know. It's a treehouse.
But it's not just any treehouse, it's my one of a kind super special baby girl's treehouse!

I decided to whip up some curtains, Nester style!
No sewing, just some glue and nails.
I nailed this little chalkboard up to add a little charm.
And I must say, it turned out super cute! And the chalkboard was a huge hit!Don't you love Josie's new smile for the camera?!?! I seriously hope she loses this before family pictures!I learned pretty quick that I am going to need to add one more chalkboard if I want to avoid a treehouse brawl!

Finally Some Progress

After about a month of zero progress, Mr. Terry has been hard at work on the pool all week!
I know it still doesn't look quite like a pool, but I remember when our house look like this:And before we knew it we were moving in!
Mr. Terry was trying to explain all the fancy features he is adding, including a waterfall that you jump into from the changing area. I don't get it, but I am sure it will be great!
And I can't tell you how excited I am that he is doing a changing room so that I don't have wet friends running through my house!
He added a rock boarder to my Butterfly Garden too.I want this area overflowing with fragrant flowers that attract butterflies and humming birds. Anyone have any suggestions???

Today the cement is getting poured as long as this rain holds off!

Dinner For Two

I had the most amazing date last night.
It wasn't with Andrew, but I am pretty sure he will be OK with it.
I had planned to cook something nice and simple for my wee little bit and myself since Andrew was working late, but when this offer came up it was just too good to turn down.

I walked in to find that my date had prepared my favorite foods:

And the presentation was straight out of a Martha Stewart magazine:
Chips and cheese for appetizers:
And doughnuts for dessert:The meal was even served by candle light:I can't wait for our next date!
This little girls imagination makes my whole day brighter!

So Much Better Then A Breadbox!

Amy's, (who has re-emerged in the blogging World!) thoughtful husband came home from word a few months ago with this hideous breadbox in tow.
He thought she might want to use it for a craft project. Instead she teased him and put the ugly thing on her counter.
I almost dismissed it when I saw it as well. But after seeing this transformation, I decided that little breadbox could be so much more!
So out came the spraypaint and a couple hours later...We had an amazingly cute new microwave for Josie's kitchen!

I need to add a protective coat over the buttons so they quit smearing, but other then that I am totally in love with it!
And to think we almost tossed it!

Weekend Review

We had a fabulous weekend here at the Pope House!
It was one of those rare occasions were Andrew had the actual weekend off.
It was also one of the rare occasions were we didn't have a million things planned.

Even though I swore I was done with Sweet Repeats, I ended up going back Saturday morning for the half price day.
I was a good girl and only got JK a few more things. I was hoping to find her some fall dresses that she could wear with tights but there were none in sight.
Oh well.

That afternoon we headed over to Sunnyside for a family reunion.
We stuffed our faces with all the homemade southern goodness and then went home for a family nap. I'm pretty sure we were all passed out within five minutes of walking in the door!

Georgia was good to us this weekend and decided to lower the temps. We spent the majority of the weekend outside and opened all the windows to air out the house.I'm going to regret saying this, but I am ready for Fall! The cooler weather, the jeans, the smell or apples! Mmmmm!

This little bug was so snuggly Sunday that we spent the morning cuddling in our bed! She loves having her Daddy home!

And life is definatly more interesting with him around! After a yummy dinner at Sonic we headed to church. And that wrapped up our weekend!

This week is a big one for us! Wednesday is the day that Andrew will check into his promotion! We aren't 100% sure what all it will entail, but he is more then ready for a new challange.
