Helen, GA

We packed up and headed up to Helen, GA on Saturday for a day of outside fun. We drug Amy and Scott along with us too! After a bit of a late start, we ended up getting on the road only to discover that Scott indeed did not know the shortest way to Helen! Luckily we like spending time together so the 4 hour drive wasn't so bad! (We took our way home though!)
Here's Josie all loaded up and ready to go! Our first stop was Anna Ruby Falls. I love the waterfalls! Andrew really wanted to try out the more manly carrier that his mom found for him, but Josie was extremely against it! I've never seen her make such a fuss! We tried to coax her into riding in it with illegal flowers, but she ended up winning and getting to walk.
I love us!Here's Amy, Scott, and Baby Benefield!Amy kind of missed the waterfalls behind us in the next picture! Dork. She's getting so tall! I remember when we both had to bend over to hold her hand! Now she can reach us with no problem.I have a ton of pictures from tubing down the Chattahoochee, but they are on an old school waterproof camera so I'll have to develop them and scan them in to post. It was hilarious to try to remember that the picture wouldn't automatically show up when I took it!
After tubing we headed into the town for some dinner and a lot of desert! We told Josie to eat her carrots and she tried to hide them in her hair. I swear she is too smart!Amy taught her how to throw pennies in the fountain! After all that, Josie was exhausted! That was it for our day in Helen!
Sunday we had an awesome day with the Hubbard Family who just finalized the boys adoption! I am an idiot and didn't take any pictures. Opps.
Josie has been following me and copying everything that I do! So cute! The other day she spent 1/2 an hour "sweeping" the floor and running to the garbage with the dust pan yelling, "ewwww!" Then she carried her laundry basket right behind me when I was putting the laundry away!

Family = Love

I love when we get to spend a weekend just doing whatever we feel like doing. It's so relaxing to not have a full schedule!
On Friday night we went up to Whole Foods. I whipped up a little jean skirt for Josie to wear with her Rolling Stones shirt and the outfit was SO cute! She always gets a lot of stares, but everyone was saying how cute she was! I fully agreed with every one of them. (except for the guy who said, "hey fat cheeks" to her. I'm pretty sure no girl likes to be called fat cheeks. Even a 17 month old!)Smelling the flowers.I love this one.Andrew is officially done with training!!! On his last day he got a pie in the face along with his new name badge. Josie kept trying to lick his shirt! Now we are just waiting for the call that will tell him which store will be his. It looks like he will get the call next week. Until then he is rotating to other stores to cover for managers that are on vacation. He's doing an awesome job and really loves it.
On Saturday we met up with the Glovers for dinner and then went to the park. It was Josie's first time so she watched Everett to learn what to do. We only stayed for about 1/2 an hour because Georgia is ridiculously hot and muggy in July. This slide could take Andrew's weight. The big twirly one... Not so much. She was really not a fan of going down by herself!HaHaHa!
I managed to get a TON of sewing done! I only took a couple pictures, but I'll post the other outfits when she wears them. This one is from an old T-Shirt of Andrews. It's big, but she'll grow into it.For the longest time she wouldn't smile for pictures. Now we get this overly cheesy grin! There is no happy middle ground. She is also a huge fan of reading all the sudden. She will sit and read for a really long time. We read the same book over and over. I don't even have to look at it anymore since I know it by heart! We keep our Espresso syrups in a bottom cabinet which is about to change. She knows she's not allowed to touch them, but the temptation was just too strong the other day. She tried to run, but the evidence was written on her face. Time out followed shortly. Here's another top I made for her. I'm a little disappointed in it. When I first made it, it was way too big, so I cut it down and now it's almost too tight. She won't be able to wear it for very long which is sad because the trim turned out so cute.We have a really busy (but fun) weekend planned next week so come back for LOTS of pictures!

Train Stop Shirt Dress GIVEAWAY !!!!!!!

Train Stop Shirt Dress GIVEAWAY !!!!!!!

Our Little Rocker

My amazing Dad made Josie her very own Rolling Stones T-Shirts and they are SO cute! Not only are they her Grandpa's favorite band, Jessica bought her a CD that is all Rolling Stones songs slowed down to be lullaby's! It's the best baby CD ever.
I am making her a jean skirt and some black leggings to wear with them. I'm pretty sure she's the coolest baby in the World. When she first saw the shirt, she promptly stuck out her tongue! She loves the Stones!

I am done with one of Josie's new outfits. I decided to make the bottoms a skirt since she's going to wear it in August to the family reunion and it will be pretty hot. I am making matching capri's though because the top is really stretchy so she'll be able to wear it this fall too.

Great News For Me!!

We have just been informed that we will now only be working 4 days a week! I work in the housing industry and while our company is hanging in there, we can't afford raises right now so this is to compensate for that. I get Monday's off! Yippee!!

My Dad found these and I thought you may want to join the amusement! I remember being at the cabin like it was yesterday.

Pasta Weekend!

We had a great weekend! It was so nice to have Andrew home with us for the whole time. I must say we were also very productive around the house. Josie and I weeded my flower beds on Friday night. She was so funny copying me! She did great until she got bored pulling weeds and began to throw pine straw in my hair! That ended our weeding session pretty quick! She is so sweet! We cleaned all the bathrooms on Saturday before everyone came over. Her newest fascination...pulling sheets of toilet paper off the roll.
This is how Josie helps do the dishes. She loves the bubbles!Could she be any cuter?!?
The pasta party was a huge success. It's fun to have our friends begin to be friends with each other. This time the guys ended up inside and the girls sat outside. It was nice to have some girl time! And the food...AMAZING! Our friends sure can cook!Poker lessons. Andrew informed me that he is now ready to go to Vegas and win us some money.I had to take a picture of Darlene's dessert! SO GOOD! I was really bummed that there wasn't any left over.Darlene and I found this apron in a box of Maw Maw's sewing things. Obviously it is way too big, but I am going to put it in her pretend kitchen for her to use. This is a very special apron to me. I love that Maw Maw made it with her own hands.Amy tried to bribe Josie for a kiss all night. Little did she know that Hard To Get is Josie's favorite game. The more you ask, the funnier it is for her to say no!Andrew left last night for his final training classes. He has to stay up in Norcross for all the testing. I know he will do great and we can't wait to be done with training. Hopefully I will be Mrs. Top Waffle by the end of the week!
With Andrew gone, I had to find a way to entertain Josie so I could clean up the kitchen. So I gave her some yogurt. As you can see, we still need to work on how to actually use the spoon! She is still having a really hard time sleeping in her own bed. I'm not sure what's going on, but she'll sleep if we're holding her, but screams as soon as we put her down. I'm hoping it's just a phase. But she is pretty sleep deprived since she has been staying up past 10 lately. I guess I wasn't entertaining enough at dinner last night! When I finally did get her down to sleep last night I managed to whip out a new outfit. I love sewing! It needs a couple adjustments, but it should be perfect for the Family Reunion in August!
