A day at the lake!

We had a great day at the lake on Saturday! It was the Hubbard Girls joint birthday party at their house on Lake Jackson so Josie and I packed up that morning and headed over to the lake. It was supposed to rain so we were a little worried about the weather, but it turned out to be a perfect day out! Josie had a ton of fun playing with all the kids (well, except for one little boy who kept picking on her!). Here are some pictures from the day!
She carried and pushed this chair around for most of the day!
This is little Addison. She is one of a set of two. Her mom Tracey and I both went through all the fertility stuff together. It was funny to talk about how bad we were both wanting children last year and that exactly one year later, we both have our perfect babies! Her and Josie played together a lot and Josie kept wanting to hug and kiss her.Sherina's mother in law talked me into letting Josie try some ice cream. This was the first bite! She liked it OK, but only wanted about 3 bites! I'm so proud of her! She prefers her sugar to be all natural!
I've learned that Josie will not look at me for a picture on command. I looked like a lunatic calling her name over and over trying to get her to look at me. Oh well.
After the party the family always goes on a boat ride to a little restaurant on the lake to celebrate the adult birthdays. So Josie got to go on her first boat ride! She hated the life jacket! It was a little too big for her and was riding up on her little neck!It must not have been too bad because she passed out and slept right through most of the dinner!
We got home really late so we both slept in on Sunday. Josie didn't wake up until 9:30! We spent the morning playing and lounging around the house. Josie is getting really good at sorting her shapes. She loves to put things in different containers and throwing things in the trash can! She's a big helper!
I decided to try to watch a Grey's Anatomy while she was playing. She walked over and wanted to sit on the couch so I plopped her down next to me and she sat there with her legs propped up on me and watched the entire show with me. I'm sure it's not the most appropriate show, but it's my favorite and I thought it was sweet that she liked it too!
We spent the afternoon with Kelly. We hadn't hung out in over a year and it is so nice to have her back in my life. Josie was a big fan of her too.
Here's Miss Baby Girl from this morning! She slept in again. I had to wake her up and just bring her to Darlene's in her PJ's since she was still sleeping when it was time to go. I guess she's starting her teenage sleeping habits early.

Date Night

Andrew and I went out on Saturday night for some much needed adult time. It was great! I think it is so cool that we still have so much fun together. We've been dating for 8 years this June. We met at the beginning of June in 2000 and went on our first official date on June 28th. Although I have heard all his stories and he knows all my lame jokes, we still find ways to entertain each other when we're together! We went down to Atlantic Station to eat at the California Pizza Kitchen which is SO yummy! Then we went to a movie. We saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall and even though there was quite a bit of male genitalia, it was SO funny! I love a good romantic comedy. I hate the lame ones, but this was actually really funny. We were pooped by 10 when we were on the way home. When did we become old fogies? I used to stay up all night and now I can't remember the last time I saw midnight (we didn't even make it on New Year's!)
Josie and I went to Whole Foods on Saturday. I love grocery shopping! Holly posted an awesome bread recipe so I attempted to make that yesterday. I did not have any clue how to knead dough so I winged it and then looked it up on the Internet. I was doing it way wrong. I did not know how hard it is to do! So the bread is a little dense, but it was edible. I'll try again another time once I get some kneading lessons!
Holly (http://lowefamily.livejournal.com/) makes Mei Tai Carriers (http://meitaicarrier.com/) and she was SO sweet to send me one! It is awesome, way better then any store bought carrier. And I can use it until she is at least 40 pounds. Josie loved it. I'll post some pictures of her in it tomorrow. We walked around Tanger for about 2 hours and she didn't whine once! This carrier will be my new accessory! Check out her website, she makes them all by hand and they are SO cute!
Josie is now too big to let me feed her. While I am perfectly OK with this since it lets me actually eat my own breakfast, she is pretty messy! She starts out using the spoon, but hasn't mastered how to scoop the oatmeal into the spoon so she gives up and just grabs handfuls! Oh well, at least she's eating!

Mae Mae and Auntie Suzy

Josie had a fun day yesterday with her special visitors! My Aunt Suzy has a wedding in Georgia on Saturday so my mom and her came a few days early to spend some time with us. Of course I had to work so I was left out of all the fun! They spent the day playing and going shopping, her two favorite things to do! My mom and Suzy talk too much and got seriously lost on the way home from the outlet mall, but they eventually made it back to the house. Reading with Auntie Suzy. Josie would crack up every time Suzy laughed! She learned to say "Mae Mae" the day before they got here! My mom was so excited! Now to work on Nana, Grandpa, Grandma, Opa, Uncle Aaron, Auntie Erika...Everywhere my mom goes, she ends up being the flight attendant! Ding Ding!I love her chubby belly in the bathtub!Getting ready for bed.Mom and Suzy are leaving this morning so Josie is at daycare. We'll be going up to Minnesota in 3 weeks for Mother's Day so the goodbyes weren't as painful as they usually are.
Wow! Mother's Day! And I actually get to be a part of it! It's crazy to think of this time last year. We had just finished up fertility testing and were trying to get pregnant. Who would have thought where God was taking us! Thank you Jesus for our baby girl. She is the light of our lives.

Bruiser

It's hard to see, but Josie has her first bruise. It's in the middle of her cheek by her lip. Poor thing did a face plant into her activity table on Friday night. She's a trooper though and got right back up. Last weekend we had our first blood incident when she feel face first onto her little school bus and busted her lip. This walking stuff is dangerous business!
And now for how we spent our weekend...In the car. At least that's what it felt like. Josie and I attempted to go to Whole Foods by ourselves on Saturday. It only took us 2 hours to get there! I was so lost! Luckily Miss Josie slept most of the time. I've never been so happy to see that grocery store in my life! I defiantly took notes so I would know how to get there next weekend.
Then it was so pretty out yesterday we decided to load up and drive up to Lenox. It was so pretty. I love looking at those huge houses in the spring. Someday I will landscape my yard!
Today is back to work. Josie is at her Nana's and I'm sure she'll keep Darlene on her toes all day! My mom and Aunt will be here on Wednesday to stay a couple of days. I can't wait to see them. It's been a rough month and some family time will do me some good.
We are on the countdown to the Mother's Day Tea Party in Minnesota too! My first Mother's Day as a mom! I've waited my whole life for this Mother's Day! Now to find Josie a huge puffy dress and gloves for the occasion.

FIESTA~

fWe had another great weekend! It seems like we have more fun every week lately.
Well, the weekend was destined to be great since it started with Andrew getting the job he's been wanting on Friday! Yup, his vacation is over. He starts training tomorrow and he is so excited! We can't wait to see how God is going to use him in this new chapter of his life! We decided to go celebrate by going out to dinner, which is something we have not done in a REALLY long time! When we first got married we went out to eat at least four times a week.
On a side note, we decided that we are going to have to do some serious work to keep Josie's ego in check. It seems like every where we go people go crazy about her. Of course we think she is beautiful, but it seems like everyone else does too!
We went grocery shopping with the Glovers on Saturday. We decided that it made more sense to carpool to Whole Foods rather then drive alone. It was fun! Jason had class and he was almost late because we all wanted to go down every isle together. Oh well, he made it! On the way back Andrew decided to teach Everett how to drive:

Don't worry, Tiff was in the car and thought it was a good idea!
So Tiff and I are putting groceries away and playing with the kids when we look out the window and see the scariest man we have ever seen. He was walking through the yard in the rain with a raincoat on pulled over his head with a machete in his hand. We were so scared! And then, the man turned around and it was... my husband! He was going to cut down trees! A little warning next time please?!?
A couple hours later we had another strange man come knocking on the window with a gun in his hands!Wait a minute... That's Jason! Tiff, I think there is something wrong with our husbands!
We had a bunch of friends over for an impromptu fiesta on Saturday night. It started as the Glovers and Castellanos getting together at one of their houses for dinner. Then Andrew and I invited ourselves and said we could do it at our house for intruding. Before we knew it we had 11 adults and five little people! It was so fun and I didn't have to cook or clean at all! Pretty sweet! Amy won the prize for the biggest burrito. You go girl!

Our next get together is going to be a Pasta Party and I can't wait! Pretty soon we're going to do a kid free dinner party. That will be nice!

Sunday Andrew had to go fill out his new employee paperwork so Josie and I just hung out at the house. We talked about it and decided that there was nothing wrong with staying in our pj's all day. So that is exactly what we did!She is fascinated with my ponytail! And her face looks goofy, but she was mid smile. I think she is adorable!
Andrew will be working this weekend so we'll be on our own again. I'm planning a girls shopping day (if any of you girls want in just let me know!) and maybe a trip to the park on Sunday. We'll be having lots of girls weekends since Andrew will be on a rotating schedule. I have already committed one day every weekend to going to the pool! Finally I might be able to get a good tan! Josie is now walking! She can't go all out yet, but she's taking a good amount of steps at a time and seems to improve everyday! I'll try to post a video tomorrow!

Note To Self...

Don't give Josie her smoothie in the car.
