Everett and Josie Sitting In A Tree...

We sent out the invitations for Josie's birthday party last week. Everett is one of Josie's best little friends so of course, he is on the guest list. Tiff told me that he carries the picture around with him all the time and gets very upset with her if she takes it away! We will be saving these pictures for when they are older! I think that these pictures are way too cute! Thanks for sending them Jason and Tiff!

The Circus!!

We had so much fun at the circus on Saturday! It was a long day, but she did great. The only part she really paid attention to was the elephants and the Tigers. Other then that she just wiggled around non stop and tried her hardest to fight off her nap. I found out that she's a little young to go somewhere that requires two hours of sitting in one place! On Friday night we took Josie to meet one of our old friends who works at the place we had our tattoo done. So we had to get a picture of her first (and only) trip to the tattoo parlor!
This is little Josh Headley. He is one of the young men competing for our daughter's affection. I feel bad for all these gentlemen. While any of them would make a fine husband for Miss Josie, she will not be dating for a good 25 years. Her Daddy is the only man she needs. And here is our little bed hog! Andrew and I only let her sleep with us once in a while, but we love it when we do! There's nothing better then having your whole family wrapped up in one bed together. However, she is quite the bed hog and usually ends up with her head on Andrew and her feet in my ribs! That little doggie is the first stuffed animal that she is really attached to. It's so cute the way she snuggles it. She has become quite the affectionate little girl. I guess all the kisses we give her are starting to wear off!

My brother just posted his pictures from when we were all in Florida for Thanksgiving. He takes awesome pictures. I won't post all of them, but here are a few of my favorites!
We are going to the circus tomorrow with Missy and her girls! I'm excited!

Another Snow Day!

It snowed again! This has been some crazy weather for Georgia! It started snowing again on Saturday around noon and snowed for most of the afternoon. It was fun to take Josie out in it. Well, fun for us, she was not so pleased with the cold weather! My goal for next year is to find her a coat that is warm but will let her put her arms down! Poor kid.
I couldn't get her little thumbs to go in the thumb hole of her mitten so she couldn't hold the snow! Opps.Sydney got Sara good with a snowball! It was pretty funny. In my mind, there is only one thing to do on a cold, snowy day...Snuggle up in your PJ's with your favorite people! I love these two people more then I thought possible. I don't think my life could be any better then it is right now. Well, it could be a little warmer outside! If I wanted to wear a jacket I'd move back to Minnesota.

Snow in Georgia!

If you've never lived in the south you may not think that a little snow is a big deal. However, even the suggestion of snow causes a mass panic in Georgia. The first year I lived here we had about a centimeter of snow that lasted about 1 hour before it melted away to a 60 degree sunny day. Even though that was all the snow that we had, the front page of our local paper said, "Snow Blankets McDonough Square." The picture made me laugh out loud, you could still see the grass and the benches were void of any snow. Of course, I cut out the article and sent it to my mom so they could have a good laugh. These people don't even know what a real snow storm looks like. I remember the Halloween that we got 6 feet of snow during the school day and we had to stay at school until like 6pm before our parents could even get there to get us. That was some snow!
Although I did not feel the need to run to the store last night to stock up on bread, milk, and toilet paper like some of my good friends (I love you guys!), I did get excited enough to take pictures of the snow on my way home from work. I had plenty of time to do this since everyone felt that it was too "slick" to drive over 25 mph.
Snow and Ice did end up sticking for a little while, which is pretty rare for Georgia. The roads were totally clear this morning and much to Sara and Sydney's disappointment, the schools were open. Today will stay in the 40's, but we should be back in the upper 50's by the weekend. It is fun to get a little snow.
Josie slept right through the blizzard. The meeting with our caseworker wore her out, even though it was only 15 minutes. She gets really upset when Tanya is at our house. I can't believe that she could remember the day she spent in the DFCS office, but there is no other reason for her to get so worked up around her.
We will be going to the DFCS office on Feb. 12th (my Daddy's birthday!) at 3pm to sign all the adoption paperwork!!! Then we should get our hearing date shortly after that!! Andrew and I were talking about how cool it will be when she is an official Pope! I don't think I've really thought about how it will feel for it to be a done deal, to not have to ask permission to take my daughter out of the state or to a new babysitter, but it is going to be amazing. I think it's finally sinking in that I have a daughter. Not just any daughter, but the most beautiful, perfect, absolutely amazing daughter. I can't wait to spend forever with her.

Happy Birthday Everett!

Josie went to her first birthday party on Saturday! It was so cute! Her and Everett are good friends so they had a good time! She was pretty jealous that she didn't get cake, but she settled for some birthday kiwi. Everett wasn't very interested in opening presents, so Josie felt it was her job to fill in for him! She loves tissue paper! That should make for a cheap birthday for her next month! She also went on her first church outreach. We went to a local apartment community to hand out free popcorn. She thought it was pretty fun! It was neat to think that she'll be doing outreaches for the rest of her life. Sometimes it's awkward and scary for us to do it because we are scared of being rejected, but it will just be normal for her! I'm so glad we are raising her to serve God.

Pictures from the Chirstmas Suprise Party

As promised, here are the pictures from the big suprise party that we had when we were at my mom's for Chirstmas! It was so much fun!Suzy won the prize for best suprised face!

11 Months Old!

Our little ladybug is 11 months old today! Who told her she could grow up so fast?!?
This month has been so great. She accomplished more new skills and made us laugh non-stop! She is now a proficient crawler when she wants to be. Her teacher at school told us that she is crawling all over the place there, but when she gets home she's ready to be our little baby again, which is fine with us! She's also pulling up pretty well now. She can get to her knees with no problem but it takes a little more work for her to get to her feet. She's still bad about just letting go of what she's holding on to and free falling, she thinks that's the most fun thing to do! Uh Oh, a dare devil like her Daddy! Her other major change is that she is LOVING table food! Tiffany gave me a great website with recipes for finger foods that have ingredients that are safe for babies. So now I'm a cooking fool! I made her baby meatballs last night for her lunch today. They smelled so good, I almost brought them for my lunch! She'll eat some baby food still, but she is all about feeding herself. My goal for this weekend is to start giving her her own spoon to let her start learning that skill. She does well with utensils if we help guide it, but sooner or later she'll have to do it herself. Bring on the paper towels!
Her 1st birthday party is well on it's way. We decided to have a small party with family since her adoption party will be so soon after her birthday. That will be a huge party! I went and picked up all the plates and napkins and cups as well as a special ribbon and hat for her to wear. Her birthday outfit is all picked out. Now all I need to do is get Andrew to finish the invites and decide how I'm going to get fun cake eating pictures without giving my baby sugar! That should be interesting!
We have our monthly meeting with our caseworker next Wednesday at 5pm. I spoke with her earlier this week to get an update on the process to finalize and she told me that we will sign all the paperwork next month after her birthday and then the attorney will set up our court date. She assured me that we would have enough notice to get family that can come in town. We're still praying for March. After all, I did just get her the cutest dress to wear to the hearing so the date needs to be before she grows out of it!
